Elko Institute for Academic Achievement (EIAA) was founded in 2009 and is the first and only public Charter School in Elko County.  We serve grades k-8 with two classrooms per grade in grades Kinder - 4th 1 class per grade 5th - 8th with 22 students per classroom. We are currently at capacity with 308 students along with 300+ on the waiting list.  We are a free public school with demographics in alignment with the school district and offer enrollment to any student in Elko County.

As a public charter school, we are governed under the State of Nevada Charter Authority and primarily receive funds through DSA (Distributive Student Account) which is an allocation based on student per capita. Charter schools are not eligible for building and transportation funds available to school districts in Nevada. EIAA is also not eligible to receive any funds from the Elko County Pay-As-You-Go initiative that was passed through voter approval, which is the funding source Elko County School District uses to construct/revitalize facilities.

The building we are currently in consists of 11,000 sq. ft. with a small outdoor playground, and we have outgrown our building and need additional space.  Our vision is to build a school that allows growth with the ability to own the facility.  This would provide an opportunity to serve additional students with more space and a consistent mortgage that will align with our funding resources.

Our plan for a new facility provides opportunities to increase to two classrooms per grade, increasing the enrollment to 498 students.  This allows us to serve more students within Elko County as Elko experiences a consistent population growth.  This will also allow our teachers a partner to collaborate, plan, and work with on grade level content.

Our long term plan is to establish a partnership with Great Basin College to add a high school to EIAA's campus.  This would bring another school choice at the high school level and would give students an opportunity to graduate with dual degrees. Students would graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associates degree through this model. Our new location being near the college makes this dream possible.
