I am so excited to be teaching second grade at Elko Institute for Academic Achievement. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. 

 

I was born in Carson City, Nevada but have lived in Elko my whole life. I love coffee and the color pink! When I graduated high school, I started working in the medical field and realized it was the kids that I loved most.While working as a medical assistant, I earned my associates degree and became a substitute teacher. It became obvious that teaching was my passion, so I decided to earn my Elementary Education degree as well. While finishing my degree, I worked as a long term sub in second-grade, and graduated Western Governors University in 2022. It is my passion to help my students feel excited about their education. 

On a side note, I got married in August of 2023 and became Mrs. Torres.
