Ms. Perkins
Principal
aperkins@eiaanv.net

I was born in Elko Nevada and graduated from Spring Creek High School. I love living in Elko and plan to be here for a long time. I have two amazing boys ages 3 and 6. After graduating from high school I always knew I wanted to be in a field where I could help kids. While attending the University of Nevada Reno I worked in the pediatric department at St. Mary’s Hospital and as a teacher at Sierra Kids. Through these experiences I decided I wanted to pursue a future in education. I graduated with my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Great Basin College and my Masters in Administration from Grand Canyon University. I taught both 1st and 3rd grade for a total of seven years and am going on my seventh year as an administrator. I love working at EIAA and love all that we stand for. We have a great staff always striving to grow and provide our students with a solid, well rounded, and up to date education.

Ms. Perkins’ Mission Statement

My mission as principal of EIAA is to motivate, inspire, and support my teachers and students by providing a safe, secure loving environment full of trust, respect, compassion and empathy to allow teachers and students to think critically, embrace challenges, develop their special talents, and promote self-efficacy.

My Beliefs:

  • I recognize parents as the primary educators and believe that good parent-teacher relationships are necessary for maximum school success.

  • I believe all teachers and students have their personal strengths that need to be respected, built upon and celebrated.

  • I believe learning should be meaningful and driven by student needs and the common core standards.

  • I believe it is not only important to help students grow cognitively but also emotionally and socially.
